In Town Basketball

Overview

In-town basketball is offered for boys and girls in grades 1 through 8. In-town will begin the first week in December and end late February.

If a player also wishes to play in the MYBA travel program, they are required to play the in-town league too.

  • Grades 1 through 3 generally have about one hour to an hour and a half per team on Saturday or Sunday. The sessions are split between practice/skill sessions and the remaining time is spent playing a game.
  • Grades 4 through 8 will have practice one weeknight and play a game on Saturday.
  • Grade 5 girls and Grade 5/6 boys are officiated by high school  student referees
  • Grade 6/7/8 girls and Grade 7/8 boys teams games are officiated by licensed referees in this age group.
  • Grade 6/7/8 girls and Grade 7/8 boys teams are coached by high school students
  • Grade 5/6 boys are coached by high school students if there are enough high school volunteers.
